Dr. Harewood

Dr. Harewood has wanted to be a pediatrician since age 5. Her dream began with school physicals on all of her dolls and stuffed animals. Although raised in New England, she moved south to attend college at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. She graduated with High Honors in 1989 and was the Recipient of the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. She completed her M.D. degree at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia in 1993 and returned to Hampton Roads to complete her internship and Residency in Pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School. In 1996 she realized her dream and began her private practice at Renaissance Pediatrics.

Dr Harewood is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has a passion for preventative healthcare. She enjoys traveling, genealogy, scrap-booking, and spending time with family. Dr. Harewood is married and resides in Suffolk with her 3 daughters.
